Ben Stokes was certainly one of the most influential cricketers of the last decade and he was rightly rewarded by the International Cricket Council who named him in both the ICC Test and ODI Teams of the Decade.

The ICC handed out caps to players who were named in their teams of the decade and England all-rounder Ben Stokes was not impressed with the one he received for the ICC Test Team of the Decade honour.

Ben Stokes took to social media and revealed that the ICC Test Team of the Decade cap resembled the Baggy Green cap of Australia, who are England’s arch-rivals.

“Very proud of both these cap’s,one of them just doesn’t seem right,it’s a bit BAGGY and GREEN thanks (sic),” Stokes wrote while sharing photos of the two caps on social media.

The ICC responded with a meme, engaging in a funny banter with Ben Stokes. The apex body also apologised but with a wink alongside the message.

Stokes had a phenomenal year in 2019 wherein he scripted England’s spectacular comeback win over Australia in the Ashes. His Headingley knock remains one of the greatest modern-day Test innings.

Stokes also played a crucial role in helping England win the 2019 World Cup. His 84 not out in a thrilling chase that resulted in a tied Super Over helped England seal their maiden title.
