On Saturday morning, BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly complained of a heart issue while at the gym where he felt dizzy and was taken to the hospital. India Today has learnt that Ganguly was then rushed to the Woodlands hospital in Kolkata is due a heart procedure.

“He felt dizzy when he was in the gym and he went to Woodlands to get the Tests done. That’s when it came to light that there was a cardiac issue and the hospital has now created a 3 member board with Dr. Saroj Mondal who will perform the procedure. @SGanguly99 get well soon,” Boria Majumdar tweeted.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Governor of West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankar, BCCI secretary Jay Shah tweeted wishing recovery for the legendary cricketer.

Following the news of Sourav Ganguly being admitted to the hospital, wishes of speedy recovery have flown in from the entire cricket fraternity including India captain Virat Kohli.

The former Indian captain also received warm recovery wishes from his friends and former teammates Virender Sehwag, Mohammad Kaif, Irfan Pathan, among others. Pakistan bowling coach and former fast bowler Waqar Younis, too, has extended his wishes to Ganguly.
