Prince Philip funeral: Kate Middleton’s pearl and diamond neckpiece was a tribute to the Queen


In line with the pandemic protocols, Prince Philip’s funeral was an intimate affair. Amongst others, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, was seen in an all-black ensemble which consisted of a Rouland Mouret gown and a veiled fascinator. What stood out within the look was the beautiful pearl and diamond neckpiece she wore. The piece of heirloom jewelry is believed to be laden with that means.

In response to a report in The Each day Mail, the assertion neckpiece initially belonged to the queen. And through the years, it was worn by Princess Diana as nicely, in 1982. The report additional states that Kate herself had worn it in 2017, whereas attending the Queen and Prince Philip’s 70th marriage ceremony anniversary dinner.

The Japanese choker, the report provides, was crafted with particular directions from the queen. The latter had requested the piece of jewelry to be constituted of ‘the best cultured pearls’, gifted from the Japanese authorities.

The opposite image that had all people’s consideration was Queen Elizabeth II sitting alone within the quire of St George’s Chapel throughout the funeral of Prince Philip. That they had been married for 73 years, and the queen set an instance of social distancing even in mourning.
